Red Rag - One of the organisations in the Private Hospital Alliance that Andrew Lansley is personally promoting to help the NHS is The General Healthcare Group. This is the UK association of the world wide company Netcare. Netcare are proud to specialise in organ transplants. The only problem is that the organs have been taken from people in poor countries such as Brazil and Romania and sold on to richer countries. Just to make it even more vile they falsified documents to make out that the donors were related to the recipients once they were sold on the black market to the highest bidder. Netgear were fined £704,00 for the illegal operations.
The chairman of GHG is Peter Gershon who was personally hired by David Cameron before the 2010 election to identify savings. GHG has identified the Bill as "giving our organisation a massive opportunity"......no conflict of interests there then, eh Dave.
Another member of the Private Hospital Alliance is HCA international who have been prosecuted in the US for defrauding their health system, the biggest fraud case in America of it's kind with 500 federal agents raiding it's offices in seven different states. In total they had to pay back the US government £2 billion in criminal fines and civil penalties for systematically fraudulent federal health care programmes. In 2010 they gave £8,500 to the Conservative Party.
Another private company who Andrew Lansley has been personally been promoting to take advantage of the Bill is Circle Health UK which is 50.1% owned by large equity companies.Circle Health UK was the first private company chosen by the coalition to run an hospital. One of private equity companies that owns them is Lansdowne UK which owns 28.9% of it and is run by Paul Ruddock, another Odey Asset Management, own 16.6% of it and is run by Crispen Odey. Paul Ruddock has donated £500,000 to the Conservative Party and was personally placed on this years New Years honours list by Mr Cameron.Crispen Odey has given £290,000 to the Conservative Party.
Circle Health Care made a loss last year of over £27,400,000.
Now then, doesn't that make you feel tonnes better about Lansley and his Bill?
