Red Rag - Andrew Lansley attacked Labour today by saying the PFI projects in the NHS, signed by the previous Labour government are leaving it crippled with an "enormous amount of debt".
The argument over PFI has been going on longer than the coalition, however, in his attempt to grab a few cheap headlines, Andrew Lansley, yet again, has made himself look a plank.
He is quite obviously oblivious to the fact that NHS funding is actually falling in real terms and it is this which is crippling the NHS. A few things Mr Lansley needs to be asked when attacking PFI are:
Why has Andrew Lansley personally agreed to continue with the PFI scheme for Liverpool Children's Health park?
Why has Andrew Lansley personally agreed to continue with the PFI scheme for the Cambridge Cardiothoracic Centre?
Why has Andrew Lansley's fellow government minister Michael Gove personally agree to £2 billion of PFI project for his education department?
Why did the government agree to continue the PFI project for Nottingham Express Rail?
The most important question that must be asked of Andrew Lansley is if the PFI scheme is so evil and disgusting why has the coalition signed £6.9 billion worth of PFI projects since it came into power.
Message to Andrew Lansley........check your fucking facts before attacking projects you have personally signed off yourself and your government is continuing to do so.
