Red Rag - Cameron is now publically extracting the urine out of the Orange Tories
Nick Clegg
Red Rag - There is a headline to strike at the heart of Charles Kennedy. "Cameron says he is getting 80% of manifesto through". According to The Sham he is easily and without much hinderance getting 80% of the Tory manifesto through into coalition policy. He is that emboldened by how he is dominating the coalition and how Clegg is turning into his puppet, he is now boasting about it in The Mail on Sunday. The fact that he is openly taking the piss out of the Orange Tories by saying they are not even putting up a fight shows what he thinks of them but especially what he thinks of Clegg and his leadership.
With this interview he has dispelled all the rubbish being used by the Orange Tories and their friends in the blogosphere that they are having significant influence on the coalition and the policies they are forming. It now looks like that the only real thing they have actually got out of the coalition is the referendum on AV and the Tories have decided to ride roughshod over them on virtually every other policy.
With open warfare breaking out amongst the Orange Tories over their lack of influence on the coalition, one wonders if The Sham has deliberately timed this urine extraction of the Orange Tories to further undermine their leader. If Clegg becomes under pressure from those within his own party he will rely more and more on The Sham for political security, which means the Sham can more and more force Tory policy through knowing full well Clegg wont put up any sort of fight.
How long people like Kenedy, Cable and Hughes will put up with this now very public political humiliation, who can tell. However when Cameron is so openly boasting of how little the Orange Tory leadership is having influencing coalition policy, one wonders if he is trying to force the issue of separating the Orange Bookers from the likes of Kennedy and others. With friends like these.....
